Vocational Counselling

Vocational counsellingFor individuals: For many people, the question “What do I want to be when I grow up?” recurs throughout life. Our interests change, our personalities mature, life events force us onto a different course. Consulting with a professional career counsellor can clarify our understanding of our personality attributes and our interests and help us make choices that lead to meaningful and satisfying work. Joe Ramsay has spent more than 30 years building staff teams and almost 20 years as a human resource specialist. Using assessment tools combined with personal counselling techniques, he can help you gain a better understanding of your vocational options and make the right choices for your future.

For organizations: There are times when organizations need to support an employee who is struggling. A previously productive individual may be lacking motivation or feeling stuck in their current position. At other times, misconduct requires an assessment that can provide recommendations for next steps toward remedial work or rehabilitation. Using a combination of assessment instruments and interviews, Joe can provide an organization with an evaluation of an employee’s current challenges and make recommendations that will help the organization consider the best next steps.

For Faith Communities: Joe works as an associate with Six Oaks Ministry Development Services in Toronto. In partnership with a team of ministry vocation experts, Joe is able to provide a vocational assessment for personal growth and discernment. Six Oaks can also help judicatories assess ministry competency and determine appropriate remedial actions.
